Metsa Village is a Scandinavian lifestyle-themed complex in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, which opened in 2018 and admission is free. At Metsa Village, visitors can enjoy a relaxing time by strolling along the lakeside, participating in workshops and other events, and shopping for Scandinavian brand goods and crafts. The grounds are very spacious, about four times the size of the Tokyo Dome, making it a perfect spot for a walk with your dog.
Just down the hill from the entrance, you will see a large complex with a restaurant building and a market building. Here you can enjoy Scandinavia with all your senses, from food to shopping. The attractive stores range from Scandinavian goods featuring classic Scandinavian brands such as Marimekko and Iittala to lifestyle stores where you can enjoy the latest designs from Finland. Why not try incorporating Scandinavian design into your daily life with its excellent functionality in everything from interior goods, sundries, and accessories?
The charm of “Metsa Village” is the sense of oneness with nature. You can experience Finland, the land of forests and lakes, in the midst of nature. Island boats are recommended for those who want to relax and exercise a little! Take a picture with nature in the background for a memorable experience.
Around the center of Metsa Village, you will find Nordics, an Arabic tableware and café store, and Metsa Hall, where you will also find cute little tatemonos. The Metsa Hall hosts pop-ups and events for a limited time only. *No workshops are held at Metsa Hall.
Scandinavia is known for its high level of happiness, and this is because there is a time in our lives when we can relax and take it easy, free from work and worries. Why not spend your time reading a book by yourself, talking with your family about the day’s events, sipping a cup of coffee, or just relaxing on the sofa doing nothing, living in a cozy, Scandinavian atmosphere?
