
The first of its kind in Japan! Moomin Valley Park is the first place in Japan where you can relive the world of the Moomin stories. Moomin Valley Park is located alongside Mezza Village in Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, and features experience facilities such as the symbolic Moomin House, live entertainment and reading, exhibition facilities where you can learn about the charm of the stories and the original creators, and one of the largest selection of stores in the world, The Moomin Museum is also home to the world’s largest selection of shops, restaurants with original menus, and a Moomin world that is one with nature.
At the entrance, there is an object in the shape of a book. Pass through here and enter the world of the Moomin!
The park is filled with colorful and cute decorations, objects, and mane from the Moomin world. The Moomin Gardens, the symbol of the park, is the home of the Moomin family in the Moomin Valley area, where you can see how the Moomin family lives from inside each of the rooms.
There are also several stores selling take-out food in the Moomin Valley area. There is a food stand that sells hot dogs made with Saiboku sausage and Hattendo, famous for its cream buns, all in original “Moomin Valley Park” packaging. Benches are also available in the park, so please take a look when you take a break♪
The Moomin Valley area also offers attractions. Visitors can try their hand at games in the colorful store at the arcade games Peli & Leikki and Nibbling for 500 yen per game to win great prizes!
Little Mii’s Playspot is a theater-type experience where you can enjoy the comical slapstick of Little Mii, the mischievous hero. In the Sea Orchestra, you can go on an adventurous journey with the young Moominpapa.
The Emma Theatre features live entertainment shows by Moomin and friends. Enjoy a soothing show in the open-air theater.
The Osabishiyama area offers an attractive and active outdoor experience. Mr. Hemlen’s Amusement Park is an athletic facility located at the top of Mount Osabishi. The athletic facilities are handmade out of wood and are exciting to see. The Hiko Oni (Hobgoblin) Zipline Adventure has a reception desk in the Moomin Valley area, where you can climb up to Mount Osabishi and take off on the zipline! You will ride the wind like a flying devil and glide over the lake.
Moving to the back of the Moomin Valley area, visitors will find the Kokemus area, which includes an indoor playground and special exhibitions. Kokemus, which means “experience” in Finnish, is an interactive facility where visitors can relive the stories of the Moomins. The museum features an introduction to the author Tove Jansson, the world of her novels and picture books, and an 8-meter diorama of the Moomin Valley.
On the third floor, the Moomin Valley Playground uses illustrations and colors from the Moomin stories, and visitors can enjoy learning to move their bodies while playing in the Scandinavian colors of the playground.
There are restaurants and stores on the first floor and a library café on the second floor. The store offers one of the world’s largest selections of Moomin goods. The restaurant is decorated in a very cute Moomin worldview, which makes for a more enjoyable dining experience.
In addition to the dining halls in the Kokemus area, you can also enjoy the unique cuisine of Moomin Valley Park at the Lettura Lounge near the entrance to the park. The restaurant offers a selection of both standard and seasonal menus.
