Ichihara Elephant Kingdom is a zoo located in Ichihara City, Chiba Prefecture. About 10 elephants are kept here, the largest number in Japan. Together with the adjacent Sayuri World, the zoo is operated as Animal Wonder Resort.
At Ichihara Elephant Kingdom, the elephant show “Elephant Performance Time” and the “Elephant Ride” where you can actually ride on the back of an elephant are very popular, especially among children. The friendly elephants come to greet you with their noses outstretched.
The “Elephant Museum” in the park introduces the status of elephant breeding and ecology in Japan, and is actively engaged in activities to spread knowledge about elephants.
