Ojima Komatsugawa Park is a disaster prevention base park that straddles the old Nakagawa River between Koto and Edogawa wards and is used as a place for recreation and as an evacuation site in the event of a disaster. The park consists of five blocks: Sports Square with sports facilities, Wansaka Square, Freedom Square, Seasonal Square (north and south sides), and Wind Square.

Adjacent to the Freedom Plaza, there is an athletic field popular with children and a barbecue area.

The athletic playground equipment at Ojima Komatsugawa Park is designed to resemble large and small boats, and the equipment is designed for kindergarteners through upper elementary school students, making it a park that the whole family can enjoy together.

This elevated park is located past the south side of the seasonal plaza and up a flight of stairs. Within the park are the remains of the former Komatsugawa Locks, a special sluice gate completed in 1930 that regulates the surface of the water at different levels to allow ships to pass through.
