Joetsu Aqurium Umigatari is an aquarium in Niigata Prefecture where visitors can enjoy the large tank themed on the Sea of Japan and the Magellanic penguins, the largest number of penguins in Japan at about 120, from an overwhelmingly close distance. The “Sea of Japan Terrace,” where the large aquarium tank and the surface of the Sea of Japan are combined, is one of the most beautiful spots in Joetsu City. The 450-seat “Dolphin Stadium” is a pool that looks as if it is connected to the Sea of Japan, where bottlenose dolphins put on an exceptional performance.
The restaurant offers a variety of dishes unique to Umimonotari, including an Argentinean restaurant, the main habitat of the Magellanic penguins, and an original menu developed in collaboration with a company in Joetsu City. Please come and enjoy them with us.
