Tadataka Ino Memorial Hall

Ino Tadataka Ino Memorial Museum is an interesting place for children as well, as Ino made a great contribution to the mapping of Japan. Through the exhibits, visitors can learn about the techniques and history of mapmaking in the Edo period.

Townscape along Ono River

The streets along the Ono River running through the old town are lined with buildings that evoke the atmosphere of the Edo period. Take a stroll with your family and enjoy the scenery of the old days.

Sawara also offers many delicious local delicacies. It is fun to walk around with your children eating such delicacies as kabayaki eel and Sawara’s famous dumplings. Another must-visit cafe is “Imoimo Parfait Specialty Store Kinmitsu-do. They have baked sweet potato parfaits that can only be tasted here, and parfait freaks come from all over the country!
