Nokogiriyama Ropeway (Kyonan, Chiba)

Nokogiriyama Ropeway is located in Kanaya, Futtsu City, and is the only ropeway in Chiba Prefecture that connects the foot station to the summit station. Nokogiriyama on the west coast of the Boso Peninsula has long been known as a source of high-quality Boshu stone, which was actively quarried from the Edo period to the Meiji period (1868-1912).

Located on the southern slope of Nokogiriyama, Nihon Temple is the oldest imperial temple in the Kanto region, with the largest Buddha in Japan, 1,500 arhats, a hundred shaku kannon, a peephole into hell, and more.

At the beginning of the New Year, a kadomatsu (a traditional Japanese pine tree) was decorated to welcome us.
