The MOA Museum of Art, located in Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture, opened on January 11, 1982. The museum houses and exhibits the collection of Mokichi Okada, and regularly holds special exhibitions. 3,500 masterpieces of ceramics, sculpture, calligraphy, textiles, painting, and metalwork, mainly from Japan and China, including three national treasures, important cultural properties, and important art works, are housed in the MOA Museum of Art.

The MOA Museum of Art has a cafeteria called “the cafe” where you can enjoy specialty coffee in a very open space with glass walls.
Specialty coffee is coffee beans that have undergone consistent quality control from production area, grower, cultivation management, harvesting, production processing, sorting, transportation and storage, roasting, to serving in a cup.
Only 5% of the world’s specialty coffees are JAS-certified organic beans, and they offer the crisp, bright acidity and sweet flavor of the finest specialty coffees.
When the MOA Museum of Art was opened, the pathway was dug down from the top of the mountain slope in order not to disturb the natural environment. From the outside, it is indeed a mysterious structure that is at one with nature.
There are many national treasures and exhibits to see, but the architecture itself is also very beautiful in every detail.
