I went to the Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum in Koganei City, Tokyo, because I heard that there is a nice retro spot where you can take a break while enjoying coffee and pancakes in a western-style house built in 1910.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I visited Musashino Sabo, a cafe in the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum. From the outside, it looks like a fairy tale, a very cute western-style house with white and pink as its basic colors. The building was originally constructed as a home in Shinanomachi, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo, and after a large-scale expansion, it was moved to the Edo-Tokyo Open-Air Architectural Museum, where it is now operating as a caf\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The building has been restored to its appearance as it was when de Lalande built a large addition, and the interior has been reconstructed to look as it did in the early Taisho period when de Lalande lived there, based on old photographs that have survived. The restaurant has approximately 60 seats inside, and there is also terrace seating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
