A true urban oasis⁉or rather, a tropical rainforest. Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome is located on Yumenoshima Island in Koto-ku, Tokyo, about a 15-minute walk from Shinkiba Station. In addition to the botanical garden, there are various parks, restaurants, and BBQ areas in the Yumenoshima area.

Yumenoshima Tropical Greenhouse Dome, which will celebrate its 35th anniversary in 2023, uses the residual heat from the adjacent waste incineration plant to control the air conditioning of the greenhouse and the interior of the museum, and all the energy needed for water heating is supplied by the hot water from the plant! It is truly ecological⁉About 900 kinds of plants are exhibited in the 1,500-square-meter large greenhouse modeled after a tropical rain forest.

During the Halloween season, there were countless large pumpkins in the garden, and the children enjoyed rolling them around and lifting them up. The fact that admission is free for elementary school students and younger (and junior high school students who live or go to school in Tokyo) is also a great ministry.
